Cow´s milk allergy (CMA) is one of the most prevalent allergies in childhood. Its prevelence in the general population is probably 1 to 3%, being highest in infants and lowest in adults. CMA is an immunologically mediated reaction to cow´s milk proteins. Symptoms can be gastrointestinal conditions, flushed skin, skin irritation or irritation of the respiratory tract and even systemic anaphylaxis. Due to dietary elimination prognosis is good and symptoms disappear .
