Data Controller/Service provider
The Data controller in accordance with the German Law on privacy (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz - BDSG) and at the same time the service provider pursuant to the German law on electronic media (Telemediengesetz – TMG) is the company Dr. Schär Medical Nutrition GmbH, Dieselstraße 23, D-61191 Rosbach v.d. Höhe (for more information, see our colophon).
Collection and use of the data
Your data will be recorded and processed by the company Dr. Schär Medical Nutrition GmbH, Dieselstraße 23, D-61191 Rosbach v. d. Höhe, as well as by Dr. Schär SpA, Winkelau 9, I-39014 Postal. The scope and type of collection and use of your data differ depending on whether you access our website only for information or also to benefit of our services, as follows:
a) Access for informational purposes
If you access our website for informational purposes only, you are not strictly required to provide any personal data. With this type of access, we simply collect and use only the data that our Internet browser automatically transmits to us, for example:
• the date and time of your access to our web pages
• the type of browser you are using
• your browser settings
• the operating system you are using
• the last web page you visited
• the amount of data downloaded and the status of the consultation (downloads, files not found, etc.)
• your IP address
Data collected if you are accessing the website for informational purposes only are used exclusively in impersonal form. This is necessary to allow you to browse the web pages, as well as for statistical purposes and for the betterment of our Internet offer. The IP address is stored only for the duration of your visit, but we do not analyse the information in connection with you personally.
b) Subscription to our offers
If you intend to use one of the services offered on our website, such as order products or subscribe to a newsletter, you must provide us with further data, namely those required to process your request, such as your postal address when sending products by mail.
You can choose whether to provide other data, which are indicated explicitly as optional, in addition to those required.
The collection or use of your data are meant to provide you with the service requested, i.e. to process your order or send you the newsletter you wish to receive, specifically "tailored" to your preferences.
To this end, your personal information may be forwarded to our service providers, which of course, we have selected with great care; these may be technical collaborators or people who assist us in the execution of shipments.
In all other cases, we will only forward your data to third parties if we are required to do so by law.
In addition to providing you with the services you request, we would be delighted – of course only with your specific and explicit consent – to offer you a website that meets your needs and possibly send you, by mail or email (in the form of newsletters), news and interesting information about our company or about our products and services that are likely, based on the data provided by you, to meet your interest.
In this connection, we would analyse your data for that purpose and for conducting market research and to achieve this goal, we need to collect your personal data – both those regarding your access to the website and those directly indicated by you – in special "user profiles", so that we may then analyse these profiles to that end. This process takes place entirely in-house and only as strictly necessary.
If you choose to provide us your consent, please be informed that you can later withdraw it at any time.
To register to our e-mail newsletter service we need, in addition to the specific consent required by law, at least your e-mail address to send the newsletter. Any other data are optional; we will use them to address you personally and to give our newsletter a vest "tailored" to your preferences, as well as to clarify any doubts regarding the e-mail address. To send the newsletter by e-mail, we usually resort to the so-called double opt-in proceeding, meaning that we send you the newsletter only when you submit confirmation of your subscription via the link contained in an e-mail sent to you specifically for this purpose. This procedure allows us to ensure that only you personally, as the owner of the e-mail address, receive the newsletter. You are required to submit your confirmation shortly after receipt of our email; otherwise, your newsletter subscription will be deleted automatically from our database.
You may cancel your subscription to our newsletter at any time by sending an email to the address: email@example.com or by clicking on the link that appears at the end of the newsletter.
We use only so-called session cookies (also called temporary cookies) which are stored only temporarily for the time you are actually logged on our website. The purpose of cookies is to keep identifying your computer when, during an access to our website, you move from one page to another and identify the moment in which you leave our website. Our cookies are deleted as soon as your “visit” ends. Users can enable and disable cookies by changing the settings in their browser and therefore can also disable their storage or restrict it to certain websites, or configure their browser so that it informs them automatically of the possible activation of a browser, requesting their confirmation. In order for our website to express its full potential, however, it essential, for technical reasons, that you do not disable the cookies.
Please note that in this context we do not carry out the collection and storage of personal data in cookies and do not employ any technique to link the information collected through cookies with the user’s data.
Use of Google Analytics
It is important for us to organise our website so that it is as efficient as possible, making it more attractive for our visitors. As such, it is important for us to have a clear idea of how the different parts of the website appear to anyone who accesses them.
Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis tool offered by Google Inc. ("Google"); this service also uses "cookies", i.e. text files that are stored on your computer and allow us to analyse how you use the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use of the website are usually transmitted to a Google server in the United States and stored in that server. However, by enabling the IP anonymisation function on this website, your IP address will be abbreviated (by Google) within the EU Member States or other States that adhere to the European Economic Space Agreement. Only in exceptional cases will Google transmit the entire address to a server of its own that should need it to analyse your use of the website, file reports on your activity within the website and provide to us, as managers of the website in question, further services related to use of the website and the web.
The address supplied by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be linked to other data collected by Google.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by changing the settings in your browser software, but please note that in this case, you probably will not be able to make full use of our website’s functions.
You can also prevent that Google keep track of the data produced by the cookie and that refer to your use of the website (including your IP address), as well as to their processing, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link:
